Sci-Fi Tunnel Player Reveal

Cheer on your favorite player!

"A sci-fi-inspired player-reveal sequence, designed to give the school a unique way to showcase featured athletes during the game."

Design Rationale

I wanted to bring something stylistically different to the package — something futuristic and atmospheric. The concept centered around a massive mechanical tunnel with giant sliding doors that open to reveal a glowing display screen. The sci-fi tunnel gave me the opportunity to mix industrial design, bold lighting, and dramatic staging suitable for spotlight moments.

Cinema4D Construction & Animation

The entire tunnel system, doors, and mechanical elements were built in Cinema4D, using a mix of procedural modeling techniques and keyframed animation. The opening doors were rigged with precise mechanical movement to make the reveal feel engineered and weighty.

Lighting & Rendering with Redshift

I used Redshift to push a high-contrast, high-tech aesthetic — cold metal surfaces, bright rim lights, volumetric shafts, and glowing screen elements. Redshift’s speed allowed me to iterate through lighting styles quickly until the environment felt both cinematic and functional.

Compositing in After Effects

In Adobe After Effects, I integrated the player-highlight content into the reveal screen, added color treatments, glow passes, energy flares, and light-wrap effects to unify the 3D and 2D elements. The result is a polished, broadcast-style reveal animation ready for live-production playback.

This piece gave the school’s media team a dramatic new tool for player introductions — and it offered students a chance to learn how real sports-broadcast animations are created and integrated.
