RealPage Explainer Series
Financial Close Management
"RealPage brought me on to create a short, stylized explainer animation promoting their Financial Close Management software for the multifamily housing industry."
Creative Approach
The storyboard leaned heavily on clear, modular visuals representing accounting workflows, approvals, and month-end processes. My goal was to give the animation a rhythm that mirrors financial tasks being resolved cleanly and efficiently.
To do that, I combined simple geometric shapes, flowing transitions, and moments of subtle humor without breaking the corporate aesthetic.
Design & Animation Workflow
The overall style is flat and bright, inspired by modern illustration systems built around clean linework and minimal shading. I created any dimensional elements inside Cinema4D, keeping the geometry simple so they matched the flat 2D look. These pieces were exported and brought into After Effects, where the majority of the animation work was completed.
The project used a fully rigged icon and infographics system inside AE so scenes could be built, revised, and reused quickly. All color grading, compositing, and motion-graph polish also happened in AE.
Result
The final piece presents complex features—task organization, transparency, audit trails—through playful, looping motion and approachable visuals. It became part of their ongoing marketing toolkit and helped unify the visual style of their product line animations.
