Character Animation Growth Exercises
Building new animation muscles…one test at a time.

“This collection of short character animations represents an ongoing personal initiative to strengthen my character-animation fundamentals.”
Unlike my broadcast and motion-graphics work—where the focus is on clean finish, timing precision, and client-ready rendering—these pieces intentionally live in a learning environment. Some clips are polished, while others remain in blocking or early refinement phases.
The purpose wasn’t to build perfect final shots. It was to build new muscles.
I approached each exercise with the mindset of expanding my animation vocabulary: body mechanics, weight shifts, anticipation, expressive acting beats, and more. Working outside my traditional motion-graphics comfort zone helped reconnect me with the pure craft of animation—storytelling through movement.
Each test is a snapshot of exploration: experimenting with timing, exaggeration, rhythm, poses, and emotional clarity. Some shots lean more physical and energetic, others more subtle and character driven. Together, they serve as an evolving foundation for bringing character work into my broader 3D practice.
This series marks the beginning of a new direction in my portfolio—bridging motion design and character performance in a way that feels both challenging and deeply rewarding.
